Rude was started about 10 years ago as t-shirt label that quickly grew into a exciting street brand. We sold to shops worldwide and had agents in Japan and the US. In 2000 we opened 'Lets make t-shirts' in east London which we ran for 4 years.
Utilizing a passion for screen printing and a simple starting point of hand drawn illustration onto t-shirts. We evolved into a design collective working on projects for The Tate, Nickelodeon, Penguin and many more. Over the years we have produced countless clothing collections with numerous catalogues, websites, commissioned projects and installations. Rupert specializes in hand drawn illustration & original artwork, while Abi is responsible for the animation & film side of Rude.
Clients include UK Vogue, Renault, PJ Smoothie, Polydor Records, BMI, Nokia, Capital Radio and the Tate Modern. Rupert is currently touring his 'GOOD TIMES' prints and working on a t-shirt collection for the Tate Modern, while Abi is working on her showreal and creating an animation for Cornershop.
